Wills, Trusts & Estate Planning

Including STAR in your estate planning will help ensure our continued success.

Leaving a gift to STAR St Louis Avian Rescue can create a legacy of saving the lives of parrots in need.

Whether a bequest through a will, trust or life insurance policy, your gift will become a lasting and memorable part of our mission to Rescue, Receive, Rehab and Rehome Companion Birds as well as educate the general public about proper avian care.

Wills:

Examples include leaving a specific amount of cash, a percentage of your estate or an investment fund.

Trusts:

Revocable Living Trust is not subject to probate and remains private. Upon your death, a trust ensures a quick resolution of your wishes.

Charitable Remainder Trusts allow you to contribute to STAR for the length of time designated in the Trust. This kind of trust offers many estate and income tax benefits as well.

Insurance Policies:

Naming STAR as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy is another way to support STAR after you are gone.

Gifts of Stock:

Did you know that giving a gift of publicly traded stock that has increased in value and that you have owned for more than 1 year may provide better tax benefits than giving cash? Speak to your broker if you are interested in making a gift of stock to STAR.

Please consult an attorney, CPA or financial advisor if you wish to name STAR as a beneficiary.
