NOTICE:
STAR – St. Louis Avian Rescue is a foster-based organization. This means our ability to bring in birds depends on the availability of volunteer foster homes. We often have a waiting list for intake, but we do our best to minimize wait times whenever possible. Wait times vary depending on species, urgency, and foster home availability.

If you anticipate needing to surrender your bird, please provide as much advance notice as possible so we can plan appropriately.

Special Notice Regarding Budgies:
Due to the overwhelming number of budgie surrender requests we receive daily, we are often unable to bring in budgies immediately.
If you need urgent placement for your budgie(s), please visit this link for alternative placement options.

If you would like to continue with a surrender request through STAR, please understand that you and your budgie(s) will be placed on our
waiting list until a foster home becomes available.
