Biko- African Grey
Biko is a female Congo African Grey who was hatched in April 1994. She likes to imitate sounds she hears like microwaves and soda cans opening. She can also whistle and says: Biko B, good girl, hello, and go potty. So far, Biko is on the quieter side as parrots go in terms of volume. Biko seems to have a preference to men and has bonded well to her foster dad. Her foster mom is working on getting Biko more comfortable with her. Biko has done well with other birds and dogs being in her foster home. She will even wolf whistle at the dogs and say “go potty” when they get let outside. Ideally, Biko would do best in a home that has some experience with African Greys. She also needs a person who will provide her with activity and diet enrichment to help reduce her tendency to pluck her feathers. The vet identified a grain of rice sized growth on her chest that will need to be monitored as well. Her foster home is working on getting her more engaged with toys and foraging. Biko currently eats Zupreem Smart Selects and Zupreem Natural Pellets, and she would love her new humans to tell her how good she is by feeding her steamed broccoli and other warm bird-safe people foods.
